overview
Find My Tutor connects students in India and the Gulf with vetted one-on-one tutors for school boards (CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE), competitive exams (JEE, NEET) and general subjects. I built the public site in Next.js, with a Node and MongoDB backend and an admin panel for the team.
problem
Families usually search for tutors by subject and city, for example 'maths tutor in Dubai'. The site has to rank for many subject-and-location combinations and turn those visits into trial bookings.
The operations team also needed one place to manage tutors, enquiries and site content without a developer.
approach
- 01I built the site in Next.js with server-rendered pages, so each landing page arrives as full HTML for search engines.
- 02I generated subject pages (maths tutors, chemistry tutors), city pages (Delhi, Dubai, Doha) and subject-in-city pages (maths tutors in Dubai) from shared templates.
- 03I built booking and lead flows (Book Free Trial, Find My Tutor, Become a Tutor) with WhatsApp and call shortcuts for quick contact.
- 04I built a Node.js + MongoDB backend with an admin panel for managing tutors, leads and content.
- 05I linked the marketing site to a separate live-classes app (live.findmytutorindia.com) for sessions after sign-up.

challenges
Scaling location SEO
Instead of hand-writing hundreds of pages, I generated subject, city and subject-in-city pages from one template. Each still gets its own title and content for search.
Splitting marketing and product
I kept the SEO site separate from the logged-in live-classes app, so the marketing pages stay light and indexable while the classroom app handles auth and real-time features.
outcome
The site is live at findmytutorindia.com and serves as the entry point for students and tutors across India and the Gulf, handing signed-up users to the live-classes platform.
