case study
My Portfolio
My first portfolio site, built with HTML, CSS and a little JavaScript
Solo project · early work

overview
This was my first personal portfolio: a single page with an intro, a grid of my projects, an about section, a skills list and a contact form. It uses plain HTML and CSS, with ScrollReveal for entrance animations.
problem
As a student I needed one link to show my projects and skills, share my CV, and let people contact me without me running a backend.
approach
- 01Laid out one page with anchor navigation (Projects, About Me, Skills, Connect) and a toggleable menu on mobile.
- 02Used ScrollReveal to stagger entrance animations for each section.
- 03Pointed the contact form at Web3Forms so messages reach me without a server of my own.
- 04Added a 'Download CV' button that links to a PDF resume in the repo.
features
Project grid
Screenshot cards for projects such as TrackR, Pomero, Plate Picker, Whats The Weather and the restaurant site.
Skills section
Icon tiles for the languages and tools I was using at the time, from React and Node to Java, C++ and MySQL.
Serverless contact form
A 'Get In Touch' form that posts to Web3Forms.
CV download
A direct link to my resume PDF from the hero section.
challenges
Contact without a backend
I used a form-to-email service instead of building an API, so the whole site could stay on GitHub Pages.
outcome
It served as my portfolio while I was an MCA student at Aligarh Muslim University. My current portfolio replaces it.
