VOLUME

Website and custom CMS for VOLUME, a branding-first creative agency in Delhi NCR

overview

VOLUME is an independent creative agency in Delhi NCR working across strategy, branding, digital, marketing and production. I built the agency's public website in Next.js and the content system behind it, so the team can publish case studies and news without touching code.

problem

An agency site has to show off the work: large video, motion and case studies that change often as new projects ship. If every new project or news post needs a developer, the site goes stale.

The team needed a site that feels like their brand, plus an admin where they could add, reorder and archive projects and posts on their own.

approach

  1. 01I built the frontend in Next.js (App Router), with Framer Motion and GSAP for section reveals and transitions, and Lenis for smooth scrolling.
  2. 02I built a Node/Express + MongoDB backend with a drag-and-drop admin. Projects carry an order field, an archived flag, categories and a case-study slug, so the homepage grid follows whatever order the team sets.
  3. 03Project videos and blog images live in cloud storage rather than in the site itself, so heavy media never slows down a deploy.

features

Case-study grid

Homepage projects come from the CMS, ordered and filtered by category (Branding, Digital, Strategy, Marketing, Production).

Case-study pages

Every project gets its own detail page, created from the admin.

News and updates

A news section with category filters and individual posts, managed from the admin.

Drag-and-drop admin

Editors reorder, add and archive projects without a deploy.

Motion-led UI

Animated section headers, video-first project cards and smooth scrolling that match the agency's visual identity.

Services and about pages

Pages for services, careers, contact and the agency's Purpose / Human / Creative approach.

challenges

Heavy media without a heavy site

Project cards are autoplaying videos. I kept media out of the site bundle and let the page layout render first, so visitors see the site straight away while videos load in.

Ordering content editors control

I stored an explicit order value and an archived flag on each project instead of sorting by date. Drag-and-drop in the admin writes that order, and archiving hides a project without deleting it.

outcome

The site is live at volume.in, and the agency publishes projects and news through the admin themselves. Current posts include IBDA 2026 awards and recent identity work.
